What Samachar Pathshala Does

Samachar Pathshala helps UPSC aspirants read PIB and current-affairs updates, save articles, track progress, revise, and use learning tools such as quizzes and summaries.

This policy works together with our Terms of Service.

Information We Collect

  • Google Sign-In data: your name, email address, Google Account identifier, and profile image when you choose to continue with Google.
  • App activity: saved articles, read status, completion progress, streaks, revision activity, quiz activity, preferences, and subscription status.
  • Payment and subscription data: order identifiers, subscription status, and payment status from payment providers. Complete card, UPI, or bank details are handled by the payment provider.
  • Device and log data: browser or device type, app diagnostics, security logs, and push notification subscription details if you choose to enable notifications.
  • Local device data: notes and some preferences may be stored in your browser or device storage so the app can work smoothly.

How We Use Information

  • To authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
  • To sync reading progress, saved articles, streaks, quizzes, revision state, and subscription access.
  • To personalize the learning experience and improve app reliability.
  • To send reminders or notifications only when you opt in.
  • To prevent abuse, protect the service, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations.

Google User Data

Samachar Pathshala requests basic Google Sign-In scopes such as openid, email, and profile. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or other Google services.

We use Google user data only to sign you in, create and maintain your account, secure your session, and support the app features you choose to use. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it except as described in this policy.

Sharing Information

We share information only when needed to operate Samachar Pathshala, comply with law, or protect users and the service.

  • Service providers that host, secure, monitor, or maintain the app.
  • Payment providers that process subscription payments and return payment status to Samachar Pathshala.
  • Notification and infrastructure providers when you enable app notifications.
  • Authorities or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.

Storage, Security, and Retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to limit access to personal information to what is necessary.

We keep account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Local browser data can be removed by clearing site data from your browser or device.

Your Choices

  • You can choose not to sign in, but account sync and personalized features may not work.
  • You can revoke Samachar Pathshala's Google access from your Google Account permissions page.
  • You can disable browser notifications from your browser or device settings.
  • You can request account deletion or data help through the support email listed for Samachar Pathshala on the Google consent screen or the app's official support channel.

Children

Samachar Pathshala is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Changes
